Darcy Stamp has established himself as one of the most versatile sidemen. His training has included, classical studies at the Mount Royal College Academy program with Joan Barrett and Nick Pulos, and private study at the University of Toronto with David Zafer. Darcy has also been a member of the Calgary Youth Orchestra, Toronto Youth Symphony, and the University of Toronto Opera Orchestra. For 8 years he was a member of the Calgary Fiddlers, followed by two years as founding member of Fiddlers G.F. That included extensive touring of Canada, U.S. and the U.K. Some of those shows included engagements for Disney and double bill with Mark O'connor, as well as opening for Charlie Daniels, the Statler Brothers and Patricia Conroy. Currently Darcy is working out of Calgary as a freelancer playing Celtic, Country, Folk, and theatre shows. Highlights over the past year have included shows with George Canyon, Johnny Reid, Jully Black, Tyler Connelly (Theory of a Deadman), Josh Groban, and folk singer John Wort Hannam. Including performances at Kennedy Center, and Smithsonian in Washington. As well as shows with Celtic group Third Reel, and Tim Tamishiro's Bonanza Little Big Band. Darcy also does extensive studio work, including albums, commercials, Broadway touring shows, and Nashville demos. Some of the musicals he has done are A Closer Walk with Patsy (Vancouver), Best Little Whore house in Texas (Calgary). Darcy released his self-titled debut album in 2007.
